Internship AlphaButol/AlphaHexol Process design improvement (F/M)

Context : Axens Project Operations Business Division (POP) mission is to provide advanced technologies, basic engineering design, modular units design and technical services to its customers. We are looking for an intern for the POP Process Department. In the Process Department we work on basic engineering projects and Modular Units Projects development for our customers but also on new technologies development. AlphaButol and AlphaHexol Technologies are main Axens processes for the production of Polyethylene co-monomers (Butene-1 and Hexene-1). These technologies are part of the family of homogenous catalyst (in liquid phase). Due to continuous growth in the Petrochemichal market, those technologies are on high demand from Axens customers. Hence, Axens design guidelines need to be improved in order to facilitate Process Books production. Tasks and activities: The main missions of the intern will be: - Development of a reference tool to facilitate sizing of all the piping installed in two of Axens’ most sought after homogeneous catalysis technologies: Alphahexol® and Alphabutol®. A focus will be done on lines used during transient phases (start-up, shutdown, maintenance…) - Development of a tool categorizing all of the necessary documents (calculation tool sheets, memorandums, design guides…) for a Process Book production for two of Axens’ most sought after homogeneous catalysis technologies: Alphahexol® and Alphabutol®. - A thorough study of Axens’ homogeneous catalysis technologies to create synergies between the processes. Design guidelines will be homogenised if possible between similar sections of the technologies. Profil : Currently in your last year engineer school specialized in Process/Chemical Engineering you are looking for a 5 to 6 months internship. You are looking for technical challenges, you are eager to learn and you are able to understand quickly new concepts. You work autonomously, set your own targets and report your progress and difficulties frequently. Advanced competences in Word, Excel and Visual Basic. Fluent in English or in French, with good writing skills in English. Good team spirit, organized, proactive.
